Hey mothers, can I speak to you for a minute? When I’m at the wine store I see you from time to time: tired, wearily shopping for your box of Chardonnay or that double-sized bottle of Pinot Grigio. Look, I know being a mom is tough work! It’s easy to fall into a rut. Well, no worries, because as a wine expert, that’s what I’m here for! I’ve got three recommendations that might put some new flavor back into your routine. First, if you want to make an ordinary moment just a little bit more special, add some sparkling wine. If you like Prosecco, then you’re going to love Spanish Cava! It’s crisp, it’s bubbly, it’s fun and it’s made to the same exact standards as fine Champagne. That’s Champagne quality, but not Champagne prices. Cava is a no-brainer because it goes with so many different types of foods, especially tapas and appetizers, and salty snacks like popcorn and potato chips. If you’re looking for an alternative to Pinot Grigio, check out some French Vouvray. The name is even fun to say! Vou-vray! This is a light, crisp and fruity white wine that can range anywhere from bone-dry to slightly sweet, with light and delicate floral flavors, apples and pears in the bottle. This is the perfect partner for things like sushi a spicy Asian dishes. And if you’re red-wine-drinking mama who loves light red wines like Pinot noir, you gotta try Spanish Garnacha. Spanish garnacha is a light and fruity, but dry red wine that has these beautiful flavors of candied cherries and strawberries. It’s great with little nibbles and appetizers like cured meats and sausages, but it’s pretty darn good with pizza too. Alright, all you tired and thirsty Mamas, I hope this helps you change up your routine a little bit… don’t forget try some Cava, French Vouvray and some Spanish Garnacha.
