Andrea Pirlo On Wine Making

Juventus star Andrea Pirlo has produced some
vintage performances for his club this season, but in his downtime you may find him away
from the crowds helping to create a vintage of a different kind. At a quiet vineyard in the rustic countryside
of Brescia, in northern Italy, the Italian international is culturing not just a passion
for wine but a business for his future. A member of Italy’s 2006 World Cup winning
side, the midfielder has become more involved in the process of winemaking as he’s got older. Wine making is a passion he’s had since an
early age. “My name is Andrea Pirlo amd I’m a football
player for Juventus. What you don’t know about me is that I also own a vineyard. When I was
little we would often go to my grandmother’s house. The area is called Coller, it’s a hillside
near the centre of Brescia. We picked grapes on this hillside.” Prilo is increasingly involved in the vineyard,
tasting the wines and making suggestions for possible improvements. When he does hang up his boots, he aims to
spend more time working on the business – raising a glass to his retirement.
