But, have tonsay, love all your info and enthusiasm! Keep up the good work! July 30, 2019 Reply It’s just my opinion but Chicken flavored chips … ham flavored chips … all Ik is bbq and cheddar lmao July 30, 2019 Reply sav Notice how the Spanish love to buy whole fish while in the US most fish is sold as fillets. August 5, 2019 Reply sav There is no way you are buying genuine extra virgin olive oil for 3.89. In the US the big supermarket brands of olive oil such as Bertolli, Dante, Colavita, Moro are often not the real deal. Nothing like the Gazpacho you showed that my mother used to make. Here it is a meaty soup / stew with rabbit, chicken, snails etc. Perfect for a winters day! A local restaurant to me serves it in a pillow sized loaf of bread – great when there is two or three people but not so great if you are on your own – as I found out a few years back. Also the tins of traditional stews we get here and I am not ashed to say I quite like them if you aren't keen on cooking. Keep up the fantastic work guys! August 14, 2019 Reply Edward Garcia Hi James, great video. I am assuming the supermarket is Carrefour, however, which location was this? Please let me know so that I can visit next time I'm in Madrid. Thanks a million and thanks for sharing the video with all of us who love Spain. August 23, 2019 Reply Adrian Ramirez hey James, with regards to you finding turkey as lunchmeat but not turkey as cuts, I've actually seen breasts and whole birds at Carrefour close to the holidays. You can also order them from butchers and they can get it within the week. I'm American, so I've done that to get my turkeys for Thanksgiving. September 5, 2019 Reply Jessicaonly Man how I wish I'd found you earlier. I'm half Spanish and half swedish living in London UK. My English partner fell in love with Spain. I took him to tarragona Barcelona and my hometown Palma de Mallorca. 5 weeks travelling introducing him to family, he just wanted to go back and settle. "Fideuà" is not a Catalan dish, it's a Valencian one. It was "invented" as a mistake, once a guy wanted to make a paella, had run out of rice, and used thick noodles instead. In the Gandia area, if I'm not wrong September 10, 2019 Reply The Wolf "Grocery stores are museums of current culture" perfect analogy September 10, 2019 Reply carlos mayo los ingleses comeis pura mierda, por eso cuando venis a españa y veis lo que comemos nosotros, la envidia os hace tiraros de los balcones. September 11, 2019 Reply Leticia Torres Bimbo is from Mexico. Bimbo products are sold all over Latin America. I didn't know they were in Spain. September 12, 2019 Reply Mark Klatt Rewatching all your videos James in anticipation of our first trip next year. This is one of the funniest by far! September 13, 2019 Reply Nicolas geahchan Conguitos is not just a spanish thing. The same product exists in many other countries and I know they have a racist name in French and Arabic at least. Probably more languages… The difference is that these racist names are not used anymore in France or the middle east. September 14, 2019 Reply Loleytor Rubio Que arte tienes. September 27, 2019 Reply enter a name here Ok. Wasn’t expecting ham sold like they’re potato’s chips September 28, 2019 Reply ChrisKardiake For the UHT milk it mean "Ultra Haute Température", that basically mean that the milk is "sterilized" by a short but very high heating process to preserve the quality of the milk but it can stand last longer, like 3 month at ambiant temperature. October 18, 2019 Reply pure canadian Here in Canada international foods are becoming more popular because we have many awesome cultures. Spanish is one of my favorites 😊 October 20, 2019 Reply Emma Forsythe Actually tried marmite for the first time ever on a trip to England and fell in love with it right away. The sharp, tangy, savory goodness was undeniably up my alley. I ate it for breakfast every day of that trip and bought some when we came home. To me it's basically like eating an extra tangy, slightly funky, extra concentrated beef bouillon. If you're big into salty/umami you're gonna love it with no 5 year grace period.
