Salted Mint Lassi, Indian Yogurt Drink Recipe by Manjula


Today I will be making salted mint lassi. Lassi is a yogurt based drink. It’s very popular throughout India. Mint gives a very refreshing flavor. Great for hot summer days. Lassi is usually served with lunch. This recipe will serve 2. For this recipe we need: 2 cups of yogurt I have the recipe for yogurt on my website. About 1/4 cup of mint leaves 2 teaspoons of ginger juice 1/2 teaspoon of salt 1/4 teaspoon of black salt This is optional. 1/8 teaspoon of roasted cumin seed powder About 2 cups of ice. And few mint leaves to garnish. This is a very quick recipe. First I will take out the ginger juice and then blend the mint leaves into paste. And mix everything with yogurt and blend it. Pour it over the ice cubes. And it’s ready to serve. For making the ginger juice use the very fine shredder or zester. Just shred it. And as you see it is already leaving the juice. Just pick up and squeeze it. That’s how easy it is. So first I am going to blend the mint leaves with maybe 2 spoons of yogurt. Blend it very fine. So this is ready and looking really good. Very nice cream color. Add the ginger juice. Black salt Salt And yogurt. And just blend it for few seconds. If you blend too much then it becomes frothy. We don’t want to make it frothy. It’s done. Looks great. I am ready to serve the mint lassi. Put some ice cubes. And pour the yogurt. Going to garnish it with roasted cumin seed powder. And put the mint leaves. And mint lassi is ready to serve. This cold salted mint lassi is looking fantastic. Very nice and fresh in color. Ginger and mint gives a very tangy and refreshing flavor.
