What is a Brut Sparkling Wine? Champagne, Cava, Prosecco – Wine Term Definition

This is Julien the French winemaking guy who
makes wine videos here on YouTube yes wine videos we are looking at what is
the term wine term called brut what is a sparkling wine that is boat or champagne
wine that is called: Brut. What does it mean? well you have to know that brut is in
fact a sweetness level a certain amount of sugar that is added before shipping
so brut champagne that is BRUT s going to be a fairly dry style of champagne
wine but not a totally dry which would be a Brut Nature or zero dosage wine.
A brut champagne wine is a wine that contains less than 12 grams per liter of
sugar so pretty dry. You won’t really taste the sugars in your brut champagne
but it’s gonna have just a little bit of sugars generally around 8 or 9 grams of
sugar just to smoothen up the texture in the feel of your champagne on your
palate so this is what a champagne Brut is a dry style of champagne wine as
opposed to a demi-sec that is going to be and feel rather sweet but not
completely dry before it is not completely dry just smooth dry and crisp
on your palate because it’s got tiny bits of sugar this was what is a
champagne Brut I hope this video was useful if it was give it a quick thumb up
before you go to support my work and I will see you soon in the wonderful world
of wine… Au revoir! Bye bye…
